On March 26, Rights of Women welcomed<\/a> Home Office policy changes\u202fimproving\u202faccess to justice for\u202fmigrant\u202fsurvivors\u202fof domestic abuse.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n These are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n Alongside this, the Home Office has made changes to its assessment of types of evidence of domestic abuse. Domestic abuse professionals and immigration advisers supporting migrant victims applying for settlement will need to consider these changes in their work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Rights of Women\u00a0plan to\u00a0publish more guidance on the changes\u00a0in due course.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n After more than two years of campaigning for change, Rights of Women has confirmed that the government has scrapped a policy that was undermining children from getting settlement alongside their mothers after fleeing domestic abuse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n They have further details here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Southall Black Sisters have a fund for migrant victim-survivors of domestic violence and abuse who have No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) and are experiencing destitution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Funding provides short-term support for up to 12\u201316 weeks, helping victim-survivors access safe accommodation and basic living costs while longer-term immigration and support options are explored. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The fund is available to frontline professionals and organisations supporting migrant victim-survivors, particularly where individuals are unable to access statutory support due to their immigration status. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Accommodation funding is available up to \u00a3385 per week.
